Understanding Product Requests #

Product requests initiate the inventory replenishment process, triggered either from jobs needing parts or proactive stock management.

Method 1: Request from Job #

Step 1: Access Job Record #

Navigate to the job needing parts:

1. Open active job record
2. Review job requirements
3. Identify needed parts

Step 2: Click Request Parts #

Initiate parts request:

1. Click Request Parts button
2. Parts request screen opens
3. Shows job details and location

Request Header Shows:

• Job Number: JOB-2024-1234
• Customer: ABC Manufacturing
• Service Location: 1234 Industrial Way
• Assigned Technician: John Smith
• Needed By: Job scheduled date

Step 3: Choose Parts and Quantity #

Select required items:

Parts Selection Screen

☐ Capacitor 45MFD          Qty: [2]

☐ Contactor 24V            Qty: [1]

☐ Air Filter 20x25x1       Qty: [4]

☐ Thermostat Pro           Qty: [1]

☐ Refrigerant R410A        Qty: [5] lbs

For Each Part:

1. Check box to select
2. Enter required quantity
3. System shows availability
4. Suggests source location

Smart Features:

• Shows current truck stock
• Indicates nearest available
• Suggests alternatives
• Displays lead times

Step 4: Confirm Request #

Complete the request:

1. Review selected items
2. Add notes if needed:
   • “Urgent – needed for tomorrow AM”
   • “Customer waiting”
   • “Exact model required”
3. Click Confirm
4. Request number generated: PR-2024-0567

Request Status:

• Created and pending approval
• Notifications sent to warehouse
• Visible in request queue

Method 2: Mobile App Request #

Step 1: Access Mobile Inventory #

Using FieldAx mobile app:

1. Open mobile app
2. Tap My Inventory menu
3. Current truck stock displays

Step 2: Search Items #

Find needed parts:

Search Methods

• Type product name
• Scan barcode
• Browse categories
• Recent items list

Mobile Search Example:

1. Type “capacitor” in search
2. Results show all capacitors
3. Select “Capacitor 45MFD”
4. Shows current quantity: 0

Step 3: Add Quantity #

Specify needed amounts:

Quantity Entry

Current Stock: 0

Requested Qty: [3]

Need By: Tomorrow

Notes: [Out of stock, need for morning jobs]

Multiple Items:

• Add first item
• Continue searching
• Add more items
• Build complete request

Step 4: Raise Product Request #

Submit from mobile:

1. Review all items
2. Click Raise Product Request
3. Confirmation screen appears
4. Request submitted
