Overview #
FieldAx is a cloud-based Field Service Management (FSM) platform built on Salesforce’s secure Force.com infrastructure. This guide will walk you through the installation process for the FieldAx managed package in your Salesforce organization.
Prerequisites #
Before installing FieldAx, ensure your Salesforce organization meets these requirements:
- Salesforce Edition: Enterprise Edition organization (Trial version is acceptable)
- User Permissions: System Administrator profile with full access rights
- Browser: Latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge
Configure Organization Settings #
Complete these configuration steps before installing the FieldAx package:
1. Enable Lightning Email Templates #
Lightning Email Templates are required for FieldAx’s automated communication features.
- Navigate to Setup → Email → Lightning Email Templates
- Check the box to enable Lightning Email Templates
- Click Save
2. Enable Notes Settings #
Notes functionality is essential for technicians to add job-related notes and observations.
- Navigate to Setup → Notes Settings
- Enable Notes functionality by checking the appropriate box
- Click Save
3. Enable Chatter #
Chatter enables real-time collaboration between dispatchers and field technicians.
- Navigate to Setup → Chatter Settings
- Enable Chatter by checking the enable box
- Configure basic Chatter settings as needed
